Multiply Revenue from Niche Markets
By: Craig Tommy

Focus on niche markets is the way to assure a decent income for your internet based business. When you're initially learning about niche marketing, it’s easy to become submerged with all the articles, forums, free information and all the blog posts you‘ll find on this subject on the Internet. Simply put, a niche market is nothing more than a sub-category of a larger market.

Consumers from niche markets are people who know precisely what they desire and are ready to buy it. Generally, the number of direct competitors promoting similar products in the same niche are not plenty. There are basically millions of promising niches to market to, and a lot of of these niches have very little competition from other advertisers.

If you can find a market that's screaming for products to buy and that has little competition, you are on your way to affiliate marketing success.

The more specific you can get with your market focus, the more likelihood you'll have of attracting buyers. So, instead of focusing on "wedding dresses," center on a very narrow market, like "maternity wedding dresses" or "spring wedding dresses."

Plus, the people who comprise your potential consumers in niche markets are commonly quite passionate about their chosen interest, and are ready to purchase if you've got the right marketing message.

Now you know the importance of narrowing your market, but how do you go about seeking for promising niche markets?

Finding a vein of gold with no other miners nearby isn't rocket science. Just like with panning for gold, you have to do some exploration to find out where the high-quality niches are and if they're profitable. This research can all be done over the internet, simply by checking out such sites as eBay, Amazon.com, and Google Trends. These sites will tell you what are the newest selling categories of items right now. This is the jumping off point of your research.

Maybe you come across "dresses" seems to be a hot search term on Google right now. Look around on Google for "dresses." You'll probably come up with millions of hits. However, break it down to "organic cotton dresses for summer" and you'll find a lot fewer internet sites. However, if you find at least 1,000 sites with this search term, and there are some paid campaigns on the search results page, you've got yourself a hot, effectively untouched niche market.

Some people look at the headlines in magazines or best-selling non-fiction publications for ideas. However, there is a much superior way to find niche markets with the most eager buyers.

For a start, look into eBay. From the top 10 categories of ebay site, you may drill further downward to find out sub-categories. From the sub-categories, it is not difficult to see categories that have high volume of buyers with relatiavely small number of sellers.

You can make out just how many people are selling things in those niches. Run through the list of items people are selling in that niche. Pay attention to the number of bids those items have. If you find a niche with a lot of bidders, and with less than a thousand items for sale, you've found a niche that's moneymaking, but with little competition. This is a niche you should get into.

When you've found some hot categories that interest you, you have to start asking yourself questions. Who would be interested in this sort of product? Why people would be motivated to buy products in these niches. Once you have these questions clarified, you are all set to look for comparable goods to market to any these niches.
